Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking an experienced professional to join the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) Systems Assurance Team for our primary work location Tucson, AZ. This professional will support the Systems Assurance team to ensure delivered products and services meet customer and Raytheon requirements, champion and groom risks and opportunities, identify and document gaps in expectations between extended customer base and the program implementation baseline, support independent assessment of system and mission readiness, as well as foster meaningful customer relationships, including Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and expectation alignment.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop partnerships with senior leaders, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and Supplier Teams to lead the implementation of Mission Assurance Provisions (MAP) as tailored on the Requirements Applicability Matrix (RAM) and Parts, Material, and Process (PMAP) requirements
  • Plan Systems Assurance resources to execute the Systems Assurance Plan, coordinating with Engineering & Sustainment Quality Assurance (ESQA) disciplines for resources from Software Quality, Hardware Quality, Product Assurance, and Systems Assurance, and secure budget to support the Systems Assurance plans
  • Assessing technical risk of non-conformances requires critical thinking and analytical skill
  • Participate in process and product surveillance of all program activities, including system development through the whole life cycle, system maintenance, operations, and sustainment activities
  • Review of change requests to assess technical impact
  • Support failure investigations
  • Planning, coordination, and follow through of technical assessments and corrective actions
  • Define, communicate, and verify Mission Assurance Provision (MAP) RAM and Parts, Materials, and Process (PMAP) MDA requirements with supplier
  • Collaborate with MDA, Quality & Mission Assurance, and the Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) Systems Assurance Lead on technical assessments of supplier MAP and/or PMAP to establish and verify requirements compliance
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the supplier’s manufacturing and quality systems
  • Communicate and translate technical data packages
  • Provide MAP SRAM and PMAP guidance to suppliers
  • Proactively identify supplier risks (during engagements)
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality & Mission Assurance, and the Programs (EOSQP) to communicate and drive RCCA
  • Actively participate in program / engineering reviews and change boards
  • Regular communication and coordination with customers and suppliers
  • 25% travel & ability to work on-site as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of engineering experience.
  • Work experience with MDA, MAP, and PMAP requirements
  • Work experience in development/usage of quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
  • Work experience with Configuration Change, Material and Engineering Review Board processes and educated in the quality role in these boards.
  • Experience working with suppliers and within factory environments
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to technically interface with various engineering disciplines
  • Ability to comprehend and translate external and internal requirements and command media
  • Experience in requirements and interface development
  • Experience in Statement of Work (SOW) generation
  • Experience with design and development of products that fall within the electrical or mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with all levels within an organization as well as with a large external customer base
  • Experience supporting business and functional deliverables
  • Familiarity of Export/Import regulations
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and integrate expectations into work process
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision–making skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers and in a team environment
  • Experience leading groups or teams
  • Experience in factory tool, processes, and procedure.

Additional Information:

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
