Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Global Trade you will be part of a network of senior professionals across Australia, Europe, and North America.  Your new opportunity as a Global Trade Senior Manager enables you to engage directly with key stakeholder groups, including senior defence personnel.  

The role

Providing you with the opportunity to lead the in-country contracts and global trade operations; utilising your skills executing programs and delivering consistent compliance across the organisation, other activities include training, policy and procedure implementation and managing transfers of controlled items..

Working proactively with integrated product teams (IPT's) your role entails finding solutions to meet key objectives. This includes providing strategic guidance for export/import activities, obtaining permits as needed to support strategic and operational requirements, as well as, managing the compliance use of permits and authorisations.

Enabling skills, qualifications and experience include:

  • Experience working with Defence Export Controls (DEC), including the Defence and Strategic Goods List (DSGL), and other Australian regulatory compliance requirements related to imports and exports;
  • Experience with regulatory compliance regimes, especially the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), US Export Administration Regulations (EAR); also, with US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases;
  • Experience leading a team to deliver required outcomes in a matrix-structure;
  • Proven ability to collaborate successfully with stakeholders, peers, clients and within teams;
  • Highly effective communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) at all levels as required;
  • Proven ability to prioritise work and deliver outcomes against deadlines to meet commitments;
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development for self and team;
  • Proactive, self-motivated, adaptable and achievement oriented.
