Position Overview:

Pratt & Whitney’s Digital Technology – Global Infrastructure Services Project Management Office is currently searching for Project Management professionals who work independently, and support the development of project plans, schedules and budgets for Digital Technology Infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include project and resource planning, scheduling and facilitating project tasks, partnering with Digital Technology and supplier organizations, financial forecasting, tracking progress, identifying, recommending resolutions to risks and issues, and escalating project problems.

​​​​​Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Define deliverables, scope of work and develop detailed project schedules to ensure value is provided to the customer/requestor and business objectives and goals are met.
  • Apply project management principles including project financial management, scope and schedule management, risk and opportunity management, critical problem solving, variance and root cause analysis techniques to ensure on time delivery of product capabilities that meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate and manage project vision with project leadership team to ensure an understanding of the project plan and scope, in conjunction with the company’s commitments and customer expectations.
  • Build highly effective project teams and establish relationships with impacted departments and functional areas.
  • Communicate expectations and instill accountability in team members.
  • Resolve conflicts, promote work sharing, and motivate teams toward common goals.
  • Make timely and sound business decisions that support the business objectives of Pratt & Whitney
  • Summarize and present key information to senior leadership enabling them to make decisions.
  • Manage multiple projects, tasks, and resources through effective organization, prioritization, and time management practices to meet operational objectives.
  • Program Management skills to provide direction and leadership to Project Managers who do not report to you directly (managing without authority).
  • The position requires strong business aptitude and interpersonal skills to work laterally and vertically with all levels of management, outsourced IT partners, customers, security, compliance officials and other members of the DT organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Networking, Business Analytics, Engineering, or Business Management with 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Candidates with 12 plus years’ Infrastructure Services Program Management experience may be considered in lieu of 4yr degree.
  • 5 plus years’ experience with project management oversight of infrastructure and cyber security initiatives.
  • 5 plus years’ experience building and managing schedules in MS Project.
  • 5 plus years’ experience leading digital technology migration projects (data centers, cloud, and virtualization)
  • 5 plus years’ experience leading data migration/conversions & data cleansing activities.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management certifications with a history of delivering IT projects on time and on budget, and the ability to recognize areas for process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate business needs and interpret high level business requirements, and liaise between business customers, technology teams and support teams.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies & take on new projects to grow experience.
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment, able to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Highly self-directed and able to learn quickly with a solid ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, examples of effective teamwork, a track record of consistently meeting deadlines and due dates.
  • You're comfortable working with minimal daily supervision and to balance numerous priorities.
  • Executive presentation experience and comfortable interacting with senior executive leadership. Lead, facilitate and manage change effectively.
