Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney Amercon, located in Middletown, PA, is a business unit within the P&W Operations Hot Section Module Center. P&W Amercon provides precision machined turbine blades, vanes and hot section components to primary turbine engine manufacturers. We are currently seeking a General Manager to provide leadership and strategic direction to align & support goals and business objectives.

Candidate should have the ability to work with all levels of management, personnel and customers, and have key skills in cost reduction, project management, process improvement, marketing & sales, and business analysis. Position provides significant leadership opportunity to continuously improve the operating performance of a stand-alone business unit. Periodic travel is required to/from CT and PA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization and will be ultimately responsible for designing organizational standard work that will ensure success in a rapid growth environment Lead all aspects of the business including EH&S, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen techniques, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, employee development & relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
  • Empower employees to utilize existing skills and to develop new skills to ensure a highly competent and motivated workforce that will be engaged in driving cross-functional standard work.
  • Encourage technological innovation and process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, cost effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and work-life balance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable UTC and Pratt & Whitney policies and procedures including individual employee awareness of responsibility and accountability.
  • Lead development of market strategy to ensure a positive competitive position in relation to market share, profitability and quality and building strong customer relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree required with 10+ years of experience required.
  • Candidate should be able to demonstrate prior success in operations management, program management, engineering, and customer support functions in the aerospace industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, operations, business or a related field, with 12+ years of experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
