Job Summary:
This position will support the P&W GATORWORKS rapid prototyping and technology demonstration business in their mission to deliver innovative new technologies, products and services in half the traditional cost and lead-time. The GATORWORKS organization combines the efficiency, agility, and unconstrained bounds of a small start-up, with the discipline and engineering rigor of the world’s leading Propulsion Company.
GATORWORKS was established to meet an ambitious and urgent goal: To cut the cost and lead-time of P&W Technology and Product Development in half. We have already demonstrated that it is possible to achieve this objective through a combination of agile practices, dedicated teams and innovative thinking. To accomplish these goals on a consistent basis, are building an agile, empowered and extremely high performing team – founded on a culture of excellence, creative problem solving, and a willingness to take calculated risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pratt & Whitney Advanced Military Engines Programs requires an individual with technology demonstration, product development, AS9100 and general quality system management experience, supplier quality management experience and gas turbine engine technical knowledge.
- The position will be required to work closely with P&W Engineering and Program Management to coordinate internal and external fabrication operations for prototyping and testing or demonstration of candidate technologies in a relevant system/environment.
- The position will also work closely with GATORWORKS Procurement and Operations Managers to develop and maintain a rapid prototyping supply base that produces quality parts appropriate for technical risk reduction and demonstration.
- This position will also serve as the quality liaison to the P&W Quality organization and the GATORWORKS engineering organization to define the best manufacturing and inspection methods for realizing the goal of dramatic lead time reduction for GATORWORKS hardware.
- The position will support projects that develop new technology, support future fighter systems and other aircraft propulsion systems.
- The position will report to the Military Development Programs Quality Chief and be assigned full time to GATORWORKS. The Program Quality Manager will be supporting the Special Technology Programs and the Advanced Military Engines Program organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
