WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for Functional Safety across the Software platform, Safety Analysis of the SW platform and contributing to Functional Safety delivery on the SDV project. You will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance across teams on topics relating to Functional Safety, including issue resolution and objective data analysis.

In this role you will contribute to delivering ISO 26262 compliant systems, software and hardware solutions for the Software Defined Vehicle project. You will be responsible for Functional Safety Analysis and Functional Safety Requirements to ensure the safety and reliability of software components that are powering our next generation of vehicles.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Delivery of Functional Safety Engineering across the Software Platform.
  • Contribute to and coordinate the delivery of the Safety Case across the Software Platform.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to teams on topics relating to Functionally Safe Software.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure Functional Safety standards are achieved throughout the product development phases.
  • Drive the usage of standardised Functional Safety practices and processes and advocate for a strong Functional Safety culture.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

In order to be considered for this position the successful candidate needs to ability to coordinate Functional Safety activities and delivery in accordance with ISO 26262, Functional Safety Documentation and Safety Cases; excellent communication, ability to effectively explain and communicate complex ideas and a natural Team Player with strong interpersonal skills.

 

Essential

 

  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety processes, methods, tools, and their use in the design of complex systems.
  • Experience in delivering and developing Safety Critical Systems across System and Software.
  • Experience working with Operating Systems e.g. Linux.
  • Relevant experience in System and Software safety analysis, e.g. STPA, FMEA, FTA, DFA.
