Functional Safety / Cyber Security Auditor

Sensata Technologies is recruiting a Functional Safety / Cyber Security Auditor to work within the Product Safety and Cyber Security team to ensure compliance to applicable Functional Safety & Cyber Security standards such as ISO26262, and ISO/SAE 21434 through the product lifecycle.

General Responsibilities
• Coordinates designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
• Participates in planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution
• Coordinates design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
• Assists with analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
• Develops methods for testing, sampling and training
• May act as internal consultant by providing technical guidance on most complex projects
• Works with quality inspection supervisors to train and oversee inspectors in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

In this position reporting to the Global Quality Centre of excellence you will ensure that projects comply with the applied standard:

  • Perform internal technical audits against the standards, this applies globally across Sensata projects for Auto and Heavy Vehicle / Off Road projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering project teams so they can better understand compliance issues and assessment findings.
  • Track non-conformances to closure.
  • Escalation of non-conformances as required.
  • Driving the standardization and harmonization of the internal processes including cybersecurity, functional safety, APICE, IATF, TiSAX, etc to continuously improve and deploy best practices for Functional Safety and Cybersecurity.
  • Support external cybersecurity product audits and assessments.

The audit ensures that projects have complied with the relevant standard and are a key input to the functional safety / cybersecurity assessments.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that projects / products going through Sensata product development processes are audited for technical compliance with functional safety, cyber security standards and statutory requirements
  • Complete audits in time according to the project timeline and ensure solid and timely communication and escalation within the department and other parts of the business
  • Track issues to closure
  • Support and sustain the functional safety and cyber security culture in Sensata.
  • Identify, Implement/support and maintain the necessary processes required to comply with stakeholder expectations.
  • Establish training and development, to support on-boarding and competency sustainment.

Experience/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 26262 with proven experience (+3years) in the implementation of the standard in automotive programs
  • Experience with ISO21434
  • Expertise in working with engineering processes including requirements development and management, design verification, and design validation
  • Experience with automotive core tools, FMEA, APQP, MSA, PPAP, SPC
  • BEng degree in Electronics, Software or a related engineering discipline

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of requirements management tools, such as JAMA, DOORs
  • Solution oriented, analytical thinking and possess strong communication skills
  • Quality management experience
  • Auditor experience within SPICE, ISO9001 or TS16949
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and deliver results
  • Energetic and self-motivated personality
