Vision Systems is seeking a detail oriented, thorough, organized and capable engineer to join our team as a Focal Plane Array Test Engineer to work 3rd shift (hours flex between 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The successful candidate will possess an interest in the application of FPA technology to fields including astronomy, earth imaging satellite applications, man portable applications, and infrared countermeasures. The individual will be responsible for developing new tests and test equipment for focal plane array products and testing them at various levels of assembly. They will also be contributing solutions to technical problems arising in the test of focal plane array products.  This position is located in Goleta, CA.  Relocation assistance is available provided the final candidate meets eligibility requirements.
 
Required Skills:

  • 2 years of professional engineering experience

  • Strong computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, MatLab

  • Knowledgeable in the application of basic electronics principles, theories, concepts, and troubleshooting methods.

  • Experience using common laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, signal generators, and power supplies in the test of electronic components.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:

  • Software language such as LabView, Python or C#.

  • Ability to read electrical schematics.

  • Knowledge of IC fabrication processes

  • Self-motivated, inquisitive, and enthusiastic

  • Active Clearance

 
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Math, Science or Technology and 2 years of relevant experience. 
May consider a Master's (STEM degree) degree

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
