What is my role type?
In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is: Onsite
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Position Overview:
Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Service and Support is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Leader with strong communication skills for the P&W Team at MCAS Yuma in Yuma, AZ. This position is a customer-facing role in a high visibility and team-oriented environment. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may apply for consideration. Must be a US Citizen. This is an on-site position (not remote/hybrid). Responsibilities of this role include:
- Lead a team of 4 or more assigned Field Service Engineers and other technicians as needed
- Demonstrate consistency as a leader and improve key working relationships within and across the organization and supported customer organizations
- Work closely with the customer at all local levels (Marine Aircraft Group & Squadron leadership) and internal P&W teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Support Equipment/PHS&T, F-35 Operations Center, Fleet Data Management) to resolve emerging issues while adapting to constantly changing customer priorities
- Use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, determine root cause and coordinate solutions with P&W, the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, Lockheed Martin, and Rolls Royce
- The Leader is also a Field Service Engineer and will have hands-on interaction with the engine (software and hardware), aircraft, and squadron maintenance personnel and pilots
- Develop and train the team of FSEs to reach their career growth potential and effectiveness, and drive engagement within the team
- Plan, organize, coordinate, assign, and evaluate work of assigned staff, providing guidance and direction including recognition and rewards
- Provide 1:1 performance feedback and ensure staff follow all PW/RTX policies and procedures
- Partner with Leadership and Human Resources to manage employee relations
- Support F-35/F135 operations including systems, tooling, material, and processes
- Ensure comprehensive reporting on aircraft and engine status, flight reports, operational data, engine configuration status and parts consumption
- Comply with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Do you have what it takes to join our team? We are looking for you if you:
- Are able to travel for extended periods of time to support customer deployments, Domestic and International Travel to include duty aboard US Navy Assault Carriers or CVN Aircraft Carriers?
- Have the ability to work varying shifts as the business requires?
- Are proficient in Microsoft products (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel and MS Dynamics)?
- Have at least 10 years of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support (including supply chain management and Support Equipment management?
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in technical field required with minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support (including supply chain management and Support Equipment management).
- Minimum of 3 years of current experience working on the F135 program and ALIS.
- Active DoD Secret Level Clearance required from day 1
- US citizenship required due to government contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline; Master's Degree highly preferred.
- Leadership experience on a USMC or USN Aviation Staff highly preferred (Squadron/Group/Wing level).
- Current F-35/F-135 Program experience highly preferred.
