Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering is looking for a Senior Engineer in Design that would be responsible for design execution in supporting the F135 Turbine Exhaust Case/Augmentor or Nozzle Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT), focusing on static structure and exhaust system design. Responsible for design execution in tasks and for successful execution of Pratt & Whitney's engineering processes & Engineering Standard Work. Senior Design Engineer must consider requirements of all disciplines and customers in providing well-balanced design solutions. This requires experience working with the structures, aero-thermal, manufacturing, and survivability disciplines. You must not only be able to generate the designs but also accurately and thoroughly document and communicate those designs.
Key Responsibilities:

Developing and sustaining hardware to meet or exceed module and system requirements and will work collaboratively to tackle problems with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills are highly desirable to work across the various levels of the organization from Program Chief Engineers, to recent hires into the organization.

Support a multi-disciplinary engineering team through all phases of design and optimization activities, ultimately achieving IPT, CIPT and program customer driven requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.

Provide analytical assessment, design substantiation, solid models, manufacturing & inspection plans, instrumentation, assembly and installation support from detail design through validation.

Provide design support for validation testing and engineering investigations.

Ensure proper documentation and communication of results to management and external customers.
Basic Qualifications:
-
BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
-
5+ years of Design Engineering experience or 3+ years of experience with an advanced degree.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
-
Experience with military nozzles and exhaust systems.
-
Proficiency in Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

Experience with GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994.
-
Active Security Clearance.
-
Experience in detailed part design and development.
