Position Overview:

The Mobility Logistics Program Management (LPM) organization provides comprehensive fleet-management services for all fielded F117 engines. The F117 LPM manages the overhaul and repair of all removed engines and provides support for the engines installed on the 275 C-17 aircraft operated by the USAF and international Air Force customers.

You will be a member of the Mobility LPM Technical Management Team, whose mission is to provide the highest level of technical support to ensure sound engine configuration management policies leading to superior fleet operational performance.

This position is located at the United Airlines engine repair depot in San Francisco, CA.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the F117 UAL-SFO depot during the overhauls by providing timely responses to technical queries.
  • Definition of engine overhaul and repair work scope requirements for all F117 engines returned from the field to the F117 UAL-SFO depot.
  • Team with Engineering CIPT and Customer Support Engineering to define scope of work required for engine events that require investigation via a Safety Investigation Board.
  • Actively work with the Engine Life Management Team to provide timely technical data deviations and repairs to support depot engine production.
  • Respond to questions from our Boeing and Air Force Customers.
  • Maintain engine shop technical and cost data in current and future LPM systems and utilize the data to influence hardware redesigns and/or parts repair-ability.
  • Perform scrap hardware reviews to include opportunistic hardware saves, new repair development, and to maintain an awareness of scrap modes driving material costs.
  • Perform scrap and repair trend analyses utilizing MMAPS and SAP (production materials management applications).
  • Support internal technical team investigations and special project initiatives at both the local depot and program level.
  • Work closely with local team to support process improvement and drive implementation.

Basic Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Engineering or related field and 8+ years’ work experience in engine overhaul shops and/or Air Force flight line maintenance or depot experience, or, advanced degree with a concentration in engineering, or, related field, and 5+ years’ work experience in engine overhaul shops and/or Air Force flight line maintenance or depot experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                    

  • Detailed understanding of jet engine repair and overhaul maintenance is a plus.
  • Experience with USAF G081 system, SAP, and Maintenix is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work within a team environment.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite is desired.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
