BIETC is currently looking for Experienced Product Support Engineer to join the Product Support team at Chennai. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organization.

A successful candidate will involve in development and application of advanced product support engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, techniques and approaches to ensure supportability, operability, sustainability, reliability, maintainability and operability of products and services throughout its lifecycle. Consults on product definition, design and configuration. Establishes standards and defines, evaluates and maintains engineering supportability and maintainability requirements for products, systems and programs. Overseas the analysis of data to produce support, flight operation and maintenance equipment requirements. Consults on engineering changes based on customer requirements and proposes program changes and directs implementation of changes. Initiates, plans, researches, develops, analyzes, and designs modification and repair solutions that comply with customer, regulatory, Safety and company requirements. Oversees planning and design criteria to develop innovative integrated support and maintenance infrastructure. Consults on continued airworthiness. Monitors engineering and on-site technical assistance to customer’s products including ground support equipment, training devices, training facilities and maintenance facilities.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Influences the supportability design and performs technical assessments to identify users support requirements for delivered products.
  • Performs support analyses as the basis for determining, defining and/or evaluating specific support needs, such as support equipment, technical data, manpower requirements, training and training devices, customer facility requirements, and base/site activation activities.
  • Identifies, recommends, or defines maintainable hardware, appropriate maintainable configurations, most appropriate repair locations/levels, and spares provisioning requirements.
  • Supports lifecycle cost trade studies and analyses.
  • Defines, plans, develops, coordinates, integrates, and manages support requirements to ensure effective introduction, operation, and support of company products and services within the customer’s environment.
  • Analyzes and resolves support problems to ensure efficient product operation.
  • Coordinates or performs multi-discipline support tasks that leads to an integrated support program (e.g., system support analysis, technical publications, training, supply support, support services, etc.).
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, vendors and sub-contractors throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Performs research and technical assessments and guides product design.
  • Evaluates customer requirements and support concepts focused on multiple support elements and logistics support tool suites.
  • Assesses existing systems capabilities and identifies gaps.
  • Integrates tool requirements across multiple support elements.
  • Contributes to the development of integrated logistics system architecture.
  • Develops and/or conducts a validation/verification review.
  • Oversees development of solutions to highly complex and challenging problems in aircraft performance and operations and regulation.
  • Initiates and guide development of solution concepts into final production.
  • Mentor and guide development of subordinate staff members.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s four-year degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION in one of the streams (Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering) specifying the required streams.
  • Previous experience working with Product Support products and services like tech pubs, spares, support equipment etc.
  • Prior experience working in a cross functional environment.
  • Prior experience working on defense products and platforms with hands on experience with PLM tools like IPDM.
  • Strong PC skills with high proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products functionality.
  • Ability to prioritize for maximum productivity for multiple projects.
  • Ability to define and document processes as required.
  • Ability to identify potential issues, analyze and recommend improvements and alternate solutions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven reasoning, analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude.

Typical Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s with Minimum 9-12 years of experience / Master’s degree with 8 or more years' experience in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical and Electronics.
