Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced Operations Analysis Engineer to support Air Dominance and Phantom Works programs in Berkeley, MO.

The Operations Analysis Capability team has a need for an analyst who can support mission effectiveness analysis needs on key programs within the BDS portfolio. Observations derived from the analysis will be used to steer engineering design decisions, inform BDS investments, and support new business capture opportunities.

The Air Modeling Analysis Threats team within the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) has the need for an additional Experienced Operations Analyst who is interested in working difficult problems at the front end of the business. The analyst will guide and deliver customer focused analysis, as well as modeling and simulation, to address a variety of capability gaps within the Air Domain. The VWC, at large, is responsible for producing Family of Systems constructive and virtual analysis for future aircraft and weapons systems. Observations derived from the analysis will be used to inform BDS investments and drive Phantom Works capture strategy.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct operations analysis of aircraft and weapons systems

  • Create and present results from complex analyses to customers and leadership

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle-balanced system of systems and system solutions

  • Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Perform analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architectures

  • Support the development of proposal responses to help capture new business for BDS

  • Independent executioner using one or two specialized types of analysis or tools

  • Thorough knowledge and depth in one or breadth in more area or specific OA function

  • Thorough knowledge and depth in one or breadth in more of the following: operational domains, systems, subsystems

  • Established knowledge on how to use documents and resources to research technical information, little guidance

  • Thorough understanding of analysis planning and executing simulations (identifying needs, planning studies, development, testing, post-processing, briefing) to lead team on a small program or study (typically 1-2 people)

  • Fully able to develop, optimize, & validate models, and execute simulations based on predefined inputs and outputs

  • Independently apply mathematical principles in developing analyses and models

  • Complete proficiency with at least one analytical or simulation tool, and maintain working competency with one or more additional tools. Design and build new simulation features as needed, with guidance.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical engineering role

  • 2+ years of experience in researching, producing, and presenting technical information

  • 1+ years of experience conducting analysis using models or simulation

  • Experience with following standard government analysis programs: AFNES/AFSIM, GIANT, MAT

  • Experience developing technical proposal responses and estimates

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $97,750 - $132,250
