#ET11R Product Standardization Engineer for Materials and Standard parts (d/f/m)

Your mission: Guide designers to use safe, qualified and procurable standards. You will join a team of around twenty people within the “Laboratory, Materials & Processes” department in charge of developing and qualifying all the materials and manufacturing
processes used on our helicopters. This team is spread over 3 sites (Marignane in France, Donauwörth in Germany and Lodz in Poland) and relies on external services (~10,000 hours / year). This team works in “Agile” mode with its Product Owner, Scrum Master, a backlog and its routines (daily, weekly and quarterly). The daily challenges are to deliver to the Design Office all the documents, data & 3D associated with standard products (*), within reduced deadlines and costs while providing a technical perspective &
support and taking into account Airbus Helicopters’ industrial constraints and customer support.
(*) Examples of standard products: screws, nuts, rivets, electrical components, fasteners, metallic and composite materials, glues, paints, surface protection, etc.

Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Organize and lead working groups (Design Office, Production, Customer Support) to determine our selections of standard parts and materials for new helicopters

  • Manage standardization actions, considering identified obsolescence cases

  • Support the rationalization policy implemented at Airbus Group level and participate according to your skills in standardization organizations (such as ASD-STAN or DIN)

  • You will be sponsored by the team leader and more particularly by a standardization expert with the aim of increasing your skills in the European environment (ASD-STAN) of product standardization

  • You will travel within Europe 4 to 8 times a year (1 to 3 days per trip)

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Degree (Bachelor or Master/Diploma) in the field of aeronautical engineering, materials, electronics or mechanical engineering

  • Several years of work experience in engineering (e.g. design)

  • First experience in project management

  • Knowledge of “Agile” ways of working desirable

  • Good knowledge of using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office

  • Good knowledge of SAP + knowledge of (and/or) Windchill / VPM / Catia is an advantage

  • Language Skills: Fluent in German and English, French would be an advantage
