Equipment Availability Support Manager
The role of Training Equipment Availability Support Manager is accountable to the Training Equipment Service Manager (TESM) for the delivery of high-quality training equipment support in line with company standards and the requirements of the contract. The role is responsible for the management oversight and auditing of training equipment.
This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and subcontractors to deliver training equipment services.
Main Duties:
To manage the equipment availability required to deliver the establishment(s) training plan. Provide management and mentoring of a number of staff who operate across the naval training domain and whose responsibilities include asset management.
The role’s main duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead and manage the Raytheon training equipment team located at HMS Raleigh and the Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) to deliver the required outputs.
- Liaise with the training delivery, planning, establishment, and in collaboration with equipment owner and support organisations assist in delivery of required training output.
- Sustain and control ‘Safe Systems of Work’ for existing and new equipment.
- Support Environmental, Health and Safety organisations and initiatives.
- Working with Training Delivery Managers, manage in scope equipment defects and spares acquisitions to mitigate impacts to training delivery.
- Manage and monitor training equipment information and status are appropriately captured in the provided asset management system.
- Ensure the Training Equipment Service Manager is made aware of any emergent equipment failures that have the potential to impact training delivery output.
- Prepare training equipment status reports for the Training Equipment Service Manager, and Raytheon programme management team.
- Engage with equipment Subject Matter Experts as directed by Training Equipment Services Manager.
- Liaise with Training Equipment Projects Team regarding the introduction, modification, and disposal of training equipment.
- Where required, ensure training equipment asset management and maintenance systems comply with Authority requirements.
- Responsible to the Training Equipment Service Manager to ensure Company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are implemented and complied with for all employees/personnel on site under your direction.
Essential
- Diagnosing and repairing engineering systems.
- Mechanical and electrical practices in a military training environment.
- Controlling Safe Systems of Work (Method Statements & Risk Assessments)
- Managing small teams
- Maintenance activities on electronic maintenance systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable
- Maintenance databases
- A good understanding of the Selborne contract and the training equipment availability service.
Required Education:
- Qualified academically or vocationally to a minimum of HNC in engineering subject.
