Engineering Manager Car Cloud Platform

Let's create the future together

At Volvo Cars, we’re on a mission to make people’s lives less complicated. We design our services around people, and we innovate to provide mobility that is personal, sustainable and safe. Do you want to join us?

Who we are

At Car Cloud Platform within Software Digital, we've built a secure Car Cloud that seamlessly connects millions of cars to the world, empowering teams across the company to develop innovative services and solutions. This "always-on" ecosystem simplifies car ownership by enabling features like Over-the-Air updates, remote functionality via mobile apps, Google Home Assistant and streaming of Youtube in the car.

With this we provide the foundation, the tools and core applications and hide the complexities involved in being a global solution for our developers, partners and suppliers.

What you’ll do

As the first Engineering Manager within Software Digital at our Krakow office, you will play a crucial role in building our initial Cloud DevOps team. You will support your engineers by removing obstacles and facilitating their growth. Additionally, you will drive agile practices through technical leadership, prioritization, and close collaboration with other teams and leaders.

You will be part of the global Car Cloud Platform leadership team and the Krakow Engineering Manager community, contributing to the development of our new Tech Hub. Your team will own a product domain, delivering high-quality, global solutions at scale. As Engineering Manager, you will have complete ownership over people, processes, delivery, technology, and product within your group.

Who you are

We are looking for an Engineering Manager with a robust background in software development and technical expertise. In this role, you will be hands-on, collaborating with your team to tackle daily challenges, so a comprehensive understanding of cloud development is essential. Experience in telematics or the automotive industry is a plus, and a passion for our products will enhance your enjoyment, as you will have opportunities for hands-on testing.

You are a people person with an inclusive, communicative, team-oriented, and customer-focused mindset. You are curious, continuously seeking new ways to develop, and results driven. As a self-starter and proactive individual, you have a hands-on approach to problem-solving and learn by doing.

Since you will be involved in hiring new staff, a good knowledge of the Krakow labor market is highly valued.
