Job Summary:

  • We have an opportunity for a Casting Process Specialist to provide engineering services support to assist P&WC to improve delivery performance from the Casting supply base. Conduct investigations at casting suppliers and develop jointly with the suppliers, action plans to improve product yield, quality and delivery. Follow-up on the action plans and publish progress reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier support to improve delivery performance

  • On-site visits and remote engagement, work with suppliers to improve yield and reduce quality issues by working with them on Root Cause and Corrective Actions to technical and process challenges. 
  • Work with Suppliers and P&WC Engineering to address issues relative to design requirements, casting process changes, and tooling issues.
  • 50% - 75% of travel required to US Suppliers.

Capacity Assessment

  • Identify risks to meeting demand and report issues to P&WC.
  • Work with suppliers to identify capacity gap closure actions and implementation plan.

Design Standard Work

  • Work with P&WC to update the design manual for Castings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8+ years experience OR a Master's Degree in in Engineering with 5+ years experience as Process Engineer at Casting Supplier.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with casting mold gating design, solidification modeling, aerospace casting specifications for airfoil and structural castings
  • Previous work in foundry with in depth knowledge of Airfoil

Additional Information:

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
