Job Summary: :
Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is looking for a Systems Engineer with interest in Digital Engineering to support next generation propulsion programs. The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of Digital Engineering capabilities one or more programs. Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives. This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for future military propulsion programs. Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.
This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). The Engineering Development Program is a multiyear program for new college hires that has been implemented to:
- Accelerate technical capability through substantive work rotations focused on specific disciplines.
- Connect EDP participants with a network of technical resources & engineering experts.
By becoming a member of the Pratt & Whitney Engineering Development Program (EDP), you will receive hands-on training to help you build your career in aerospace. This accelerated program will provide you an opportunity for professional growth as a college new hire and train you to be a future leader of the organization. College undergraduate and graduate hires will complete three to four assignments to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program. These rotations are complimented by discipline-specific training that will accelerate the development of EDP participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize systems engineering tools and techniques to define and develop digital engineering capabilities in one or more of the following areas: Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Multi-disciplinary Design, Analysis & Optimization (MDAO), Model Based Definition, Manufacturing & Inspection (MB-DMI), Model Based Verification & Validation (MB-V&V), and Digital Maintenance, Repair & Operations (DMRO)
- Derive, analyze and manage requirements, define system logical and physical architectures, and define interfaces, and perform design, integration and test on a system
- Interface with team leads, team members, and other teams (Software and Hardware) on a daily basis and provide task progress status updates
- Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard processes
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of systems engineering functions
- Knowledge of a programming language such as Python, Java, Ruby, C++ etc.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to produce deliverable products
- Skilled at anticipating problems and planning to mitigate them
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
