WHAT TO EXPECT

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Component Engineer to join our growing Hardware Electronics team within Product Engineering.

 

The role of the Electronics Component Engineer is to engage in the development of electronic products – in this case the development of electronic modules / ECUs. You will manage the component database to be used as part of the electronics development, this will include component selection, part numbering, variant management and Bill Of Materials management

 

The purpose of this role is to provide technical capability and undertake component selection activities for the module / ECUs design, manufacturing and introduction of electronic modules / ECUs for JLR programmes.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Component selection and management for Electrical Modules / ECUs for automotive applications.
  • Production of detailed component requirements, documentation and specifications for Electronic Modules / ECUs.
  • Component management for manufacturing readiness, volume production and validation.
  • Creation and maintenance of Bill of Materials for modules / ECUs.
  • Support Functional Safety, Cyber Security and Failure Mode effect analysis of an ECU development with the commodity delivery team

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Extensive experience of working as an Electronics Component Engineer - within the Automotive, Aerospace or similar environment.
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or similar technical qualifications or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in component selection and database management.
  • Experience in requirements for circuit design and PCB layout from concept to high volume mass production and experience in requirements for design and product validation, certification and compliance testing of an electronics hardware at component level.
  • Have a good understanding of the following (but not limited to): Power supply topologies, interfacing to microcontrollers, power switching, motors, analogue design, digital circuits, EMC, stability analysis, vehicle network hardware, SOIC, high speed serial interfaces.
