Oversees technical performance of ROTHR Transmitter Site and provides written/verbal technical reports, as desired. Exercises judgments without supervision in oversight of systems level operation and monitoring of ROTHR transmitter site equipment. Oversees organizational, preventative and intermediate. level maintenance on ROTHR transmitter site and communications equipment in accordance with standard documentation. Performs systems and network level troubleshooting, using complex (and possibly undocumented) test equipment on ROTHR transmit site and communications equipment, consisting of Phased Array Antennae, RF Hardware, Digital Hardware, Microprocessors, Minicomputers, PC farms and peripheral equipment. Additionally performs all levels of maintenance beyond capabilities of ROTHR Transmit Site Technicians and performs self-inspection of the site on a daily basis. Coordinates sub-system status and troubleshooting information with the ROTHR Operations Control Center. Implements tasking from supervisor who may also review work for general compliance with accepted practices. Provides technical training and guidance to lower level technicians. Due to the obsolescence of ROTHR equipment, combined with rapid prototyping of new equipment, work typically requires the lead technician to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include choosing the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions using system integration knowledge, and incorporating Investigation Request (IR) engineering changes. Performs all other related duties as assigned and desired. No relocation provided for this position. Work schedule will alternate in shifts between 5:45 am - 5:45 pm and 5:45 pm - 5:45 am with courtesy round-trip charter flight transportation provided by the Company between Ceiba and Vieques, Puerto Rico. This position is located in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
Basic Qualifications
- Five (5) years technical level experience in electronic maintenance and troubleshooting, fault isolation and repair of large military radar installations or equivalent surveillance radar equipment.
- Experience and knowledge of specific OTH technology.
- Experience on ROTHR system as a Transmit Site Technician.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have demonstrated, or be able to demonstrate, the ability to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex electrical/electronic problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
- Demonstrated supervision and leadership skills over teams of 1 - 4 personnel to include job tasking and training.
- Ability to travel as needed for training and program support. U.S. citizenship is required.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Previous or current security clearance
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Associate degree or similar in Electronic or Electrical Engineering Technology from technical institute above high school with a minimum curriculum length of two years or Military Technical School with minimum curriculum length of six months.
OTHER
- Must have a clean motor vehicle driving-record to obtain authorization to drive-company vehicles.
- Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Successful applicant must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance.
