Job Summary:

As part of the Depot and Sustainment Team at RTX Chesapeake you will performing several tasks in the Electro-Mechanical assembly & repair field. Our Team repairs units that are sent directly to us from shipboard systems and often the repairs go down to the component level on various electro-mechanical equipment. Our Team also builds spares for the Fleet and upgrades electro-mechanical units on various shipboard systems. All our work is done onsite and to the latest government specifications. As an Electro-Mechanical Assembler alongside other highly skilled Team members in a diverse and professional atmosphere, you will be part of an industry leading Defense Contractor, RTX.

This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Performing system and sub-assembly level electronic component and small gauge wire builds.
  • Upgrades and repairs following assembly instructions and working to Mil standard drawings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in mechanical assembly and electronic component assembly.
  • Experience with shipboard assemblies to include various types of populated chassis, thru hole CCA’s and/or Component board assemblies.
  • Experience using basic hand tools, crimp tools, and soldering irons.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and/or connector pin outs of complex assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Soldering experience, preferably Solder Certifications, crimping contact, and mechanical assembly
  • Knowledge and understanding of IPC-A-620 Wire and Cable Requirements & J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 Soldering Requirements
  • Experience in building harnesses
