WHAT TO EXPECT

This role will work as part of the maintenance site services team at Solihull and is responsible carrying out preventative and corrective tasks on Electrical equipment. The Technical Electrical Specialist play a crucial role in ensuring the plant and equipment is effectively maintained and its technical availability remains at 100%.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

-    Carry out both reactive and proactive maintenance on electrical distribution systems across all facilities.

-    Use a logical approach to fault finding to diagnose and repair faults on control circuitry.

-    Support Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations to BS7671:2018

-    Carry out Electrical Equipment Testing (formally known as Portable Appliance Testing) to IET Code of Practice 5th Edition for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment

-    Support the servicing, testing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems to BS EN 50172 / BS 5266

-    Ensure compliance of electrical installations to DSEAR & ATEX Regulations

-    Identification of new Low Voltage Electrical distribution and equipment

-    Review of manufacturers recommendations and creation of Preventative Maintenance work plans

-    Ensure environmental compliance at all times and relevant legislation is adhered to.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

-    Ability & willingness to be flexible with working hours/ shift at short notice.

-    Application of lean manufacturing techniques and working practices.

-    Good knowledge of Building Management Systems

-    Working knowledge of Condition Based Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance, Mean Time Between Failure & Mean Time to Repair principles

-    Working knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out, Safe Systems of Work and Preventative Maintenance processes

-    Awareness of JLR procedures regarding Health, Safety & Environment – Risk Assessment & Method Statements, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome.
