We assign our co-ops to project teams and give them real engineering tasks! Collins Aerospace is seeking to fill an Engineering Co-op position within Mission Systems Test Engineering with a talented individual who is working toward a BSEE or BSCmptrE degree.  In this position, the identified candidate will assist test engineers in developing and sustaining manufacturing and service test equipment. The student who fills this position must have strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.  This position will heavily utilize software development and debug skills on multi-rack test stations.  These test stations include but are not limited by the following COTs equipment:  network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM's, logic analyzers, power supplies and electronic loads.  This position also requires development and support of ESS and vibration test equipment and software suites. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June- December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024. May be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Potential to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built) 

  • Design and implement activities required to deploy the project test solutions to world-wide destinations 

  • Review product designs and create test solutions that maximize test coverage in the manufacturing and service environments 

  • Prepare and present project / technical information to peers, internal management and customers 

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications

  • Software skills in Python/C#/C++ and .net are a plus 

  • Demonstrated time management skills - ability to unsupervised, multitask and delegate work to support technicians, EPA's and peers. 

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
