Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering solutions including design, analysis, implementation, test and lifecycle support of the safe and secure delivery of Australian Defence Force’s assets. 
  • Develop Engineering Change Proposals using change management processes and conforming to relevant quality management and Australian Standards. 
  • Conduct testing against the approved baselines for verification and validation including development and execution of test procedures and analysis documentation.
  • Support of enabling capabilities regarding troubleshooting and upgrading of capabilities, requiring liaison with operations, maintenance, and logistics staff, as well as Australian Defence Force users.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Engineering Professional with tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years prior relevant experience in a relevant engineering discipline within a process-driven engineering environment (e.g. Defence, medical, manufacturing, mining).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work autonomously and in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality engineering solutions to budget and schedule expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing the safety & risk assessment process and addressing risks through system safety design.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, fostering strong mutual understandings between diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable: 

  • Effective personal and team management skills.
  • Effective priority-management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Department of Defence’s operating environment and standards.
