Lead EHS GENERALIST

What are our expectations?
The Environment Health & Safety organization has an opportunity for an experienced EHS Generalist, to provide strategic planning, effective communication, and forward-thinking engagement with all levels of Leadership and Internal Departments.
What your day to day will look like
- Write, review, update and implement environment, health & safety procedures, reports, and training as required by local site requirements, RTX and P&W Policy, and all Federal, Provincial, and Local regulatory agencies
- Create, update, and manage internal Environment Health & Safety (EHS) training content and external training coordination
- Inspect, audit, and assess facility activities related to work practices for compliance as required by local, provincial, and federal law and RTX policy
- Lead and support EHS safety committees with the goal of reducing injuries, incidents, and meeting company initiatives
- Work is performed in a team environment to drive corporate and global EHS initiatives, analyze and assess trend data
- Knowledgeable in company specific safety programs: Powered Industrial Vehicles, Hoisting and Rigging, Confined Space, Elevated Work, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Audits & Inspections, Incident Investigation, EHS Management of Change and the IT Systems that support
- Lead and execute CORE system elements and incorporate them into the EHS organization as well as into the company business units
- Working knowledge in RTX EH&S Management Systems
- Partner with the company’s Central EHS group to ensure standardization of procedures and processes across the enterprise
- Collaborate with business unit supervisors/managers and sr. leadership to achieve a strong understanding of industrial risks and work with the organization to develop and execute mitigation to eliminate such risks.
The tools you need to be successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Environment Health & Safety or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant manufacturing experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong IT skills, MS Office, One Note, Outlook
- High EQ and ability to adapt to the audience: from shop floor employees to higher management as well as collaboration between departments in the plant
- Flexibility to perform work on all shifts and provide on-site support for office and shop floor employees
