Job Summary:

  • Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization.   • We have an opportunity for a EHS Specialist to be based in Columbus, GA.
  • This is a 1st shift position 7a-3:30p M-Fr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of the Pratt & Whitney EH&S Management system and adherence to P&W procedures and standard practices.
  • Partner with the leadership team and line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with all applicable State, Federal and Local regulations.
  • Organize and maintain assigned EH&S policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute by updating and reviewing all Columbus EH&S procedures, standard work instructions and training materials.
  • Assist the EH&S team with tracking and implementation of EH&S initiatives and projects across the organization.
  • Participate in the site EH&S Council
  • Data entry and validation in the EH&S Management and Reporting system.
  • Assist the EH&S team to achieve the site Risk Reduction metrics or projects.
  • Actively contribute to incident investigation, root cause analysis and closure of open action items.
  • Continuously improve EH&S performance and operations, including improvement programs and corrective actions, environmental protection projects, conservation activities, and integration of EH&S initiatives into overall business operations
  • Conduct safety inspections and analyzes audit findings to develop corrective actions and achieve and maintain safe work practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety EH&S).
  • Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or a related field

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
