We have an amazing Opportunity right now as a Tool and Gage Inspector at our West Palm Beach Facility.

Job Description:

Individual will be working in the Development Operations Gage Stds. Under direction of Supervision or Working Leader, the candidate will perform tool inspection and gage tryout in support of military and commercial jet engine programs across the West Palm Beach site.

Typical Duties:

·        Inspect various jigs, fixtures, templates, gages, and occasional experimental parts for conformance to specifications.

·        Work from tool and part drawings to layout and execute tool/gage inspection.

·        Perform surface plate setups using angle plates, sine plates, size blocks, gages, etc. to check dimensions, tolerances on various tools, fixtures, and parts.

·        Tryout new tools/gages for workability.

·        Provide gage inspection results as required. Prepare inspection reports as required.

·        Disposition non-conforming tools/gages in accordance with requirements. Refer variances to higher graded Inspector or Supervisor.

·        Participate on special projects when required, with co-workers, supervisors, engineers, suppliers, customers and service groups to review, install or modify equipment and procedures, ensuring customer requirements are met.

·        Comply with the correct operation, care, use and maintenance of equipment, housekeeping, and safe work practices.

·        Conduct audits when required and report findings.

·        Instruct and assist inspectors of lesser grade in dimensional inspection equipment and methodologies

Candidate may be assigned to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift .The selected candidates may be asked to work varying shifts as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen due to federal contracts.
  • Must have a High school diploma or GED
  • 2 + years experience performing Tool/Gage inspection

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prefer 4 years formal training in inspection techniques or military/experience equivalent
  • Prefer a broad knowledge of shop practices and inspection methods.
  • Prefer the ability to read and interpret complicated drawings.
  • Preferred Candidate should have a thorough understanding of precision measuring instruments and equipment used in inspection.
  • Preferred Candidate will have knowledge of advanced mathematics including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate dimensions.
