In this key Engineer role on the Global Services Engineering (GSE), Military Engine Distress Trending & Repair Initiation (DTRI) team, you will work closely with multiple groups focused on sustainment of Pratt & Whitney F135 and F119 engines. Your role will manage, and identify improvements in the the recently developed Distress Trending Tool, as well as overseeing the use of the tool by DTRI team members and other organizations. This tool pulls data, including actual distress measurements and photos, from the OKC Clinic inspection records and other sources, and compiles it in a visual color-coded matrix enabling rapid, cross-functional decisions on the limits and repairs needed to recover the parts. This key role supports the US military and our allies, while also reducing the cost to the American taxpayer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with other DTRI members and groups involved with military engine sustainment to identify potential capability enhancements.
  • Identify the location of desired data and negotiate with the data owner for access.
  • Prioritize potential capability enhancements with other DTRI members and groups involved with military engine sustainment.
  • Coordinate enhancement implementation with the ASE Methods Team and outsourced resources.
  • Participate, along with the assigned DTRI Engineer responsible for the specific hardware being discussed, in Clearing House Meetings being conducted by CAIPT. 
  • Collaborate with CAIPT/Sustainment management on Clearing House process and provide feedback on potential issues and opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to other DTRI team members participating in Clearing House meetings.
  • Coordinate with ASE Military Part Family Leads and CAIPT on potential repair needs.  Actual responsibility to enter the request into the SharePoint system belongs to the ASE PFL/Project.
  • Pull from the appropriate data sources the data needed to support regular monthly reporting on progress and savings from ASE repair development activities. 
  • Coordinate with other groups if they own and/or need to process some of the required data.
  • Update the presentation with the latest data and present to ASE management on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate any proposed changes to data format with ASE Programs team and ASE management.
  • Coordinate action item responses.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of prior relevant experience or 5 years with an Advanced degree
  • US Person Status required due to government contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years’ experience as a Repair Development Engineer or in another role related to military engine sustainment.
  • Identifies and champions enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems and/or improve effectiveness.
  • Influences others within the immediate and surrounding organizations by persuasively explaining proposed improvements and the benefits to military engine sustainment
  • Familiar with data analytics capabilities to enable creative process improvements.
