The GTF High pressure compressor (HPC) design team is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to provide technical leadership for the GTF HPC.  A strong background and expertise in commercial and military Fan, Low and High Pressure Compressors design is desired. If you have relevant design background or experience in these areas and possess the skills and motivation to bring new ideas into practice, we would like to like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute compressor part designs or re-designs to achieve required improvements
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams, discipline chiefs and subject matter experts to ensure design readiness for and first time design quality.
  • Proactively develop mechanical arrangements that result in products and components that are low cost and competitively superior within program schedule milestones.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and ensure robust product and process corrective actions are implemented
  • Opportunity to grow technically, professionally and improve communication skills on status and risks to program schedule and metrics
  • Use best practices for assessment and defining “Right-size Analysis” through risk-based decision-making process as well as support engineering related efforts to meet shop and supplier MRP requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 2+ years’ prior relevant experience
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the Aerospace Industry within the design and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis.
  • Understanding of hardware, blueprints, and manufacturing methods.
  • Candidate should have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and cultural awareness.
  • Candidates must have exceptional problem solving and communication skills. Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected.
