Job Description Qualifications:

The DAS Platform Technical Program Manager (IC) position is an Englewood, Colorado, US based for the Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) Platform organization.  The position offers a unique opportunity to the right individual to part of the DAS Platform Senior Leadership Team to drive and provide platform software program management oversight, along with fiscal management while influencing and partaking in the Global DAS Platform evolution and strategy.

Position Responsibilities:

Besides other duties as assigned, current know responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and coordinate special programs and initiatives across the global DAS Platform organization, ensuring alignment with company, DAS & SEAT, objectives, and strategies.
  • Drive / support build out of the DAS Platform, Empowered Teams model, Support Model, DAS Platform Adoption, Platform as a Product, CIAM, ensuring transparent Communications across DAS Platform, SEAT, and others as required.
  • Will define a plan, establish milestones, track, and ensure on time development and delivery, identifying risks early along with mitigation approaches.
  • Oversight over DAS Platform Development which will encompass complex, highly technical programs from inception to delivery, overseeing all aspects including planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with SEAT, DAS Platform & other leadership to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in a cost-effective manner.
  • Define, develop, and implement best practices for program management, including Agile methodologies, to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the DAS Platform organization, working closely with the SEAT Delivery Office.
  • For DAS Platform organization, facilitate strategic planning sessions and workshops with leadership teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement resulting in effective resource management and financial management.
  • Coordinate work and deliverables across DAS Platform globally, across cross-functional teams, managing resources, schedules, and budgets effectively.
  • Drive the success of the DAS Platform by implementing and overseeing Program governance, risk identification & management, change management, establish, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including communications.
  • Drive Agile transformation initiatives and coach teams in Agile best practices across DAS Platform.
  • Collaborate and Coordinate with DAS Platform Chief of Staff on communication for strategy across Platform, SE&AT, and DAS organizations.

The above responsibility and accountability areas will evolve, and their focus will change over time as the DAS Platform matures. Hence, it is imperative that the individual is the right person and fit for the organization and fulfils other characteristics as detailed below.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Englewood CO location.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

The following is the minimal experience for this position:

  • Technical Program Management: 15+ years in multi-team highly technical environments, progressive, with focus on large-scale, complex projects/programs
  • Global Teams: Proven experience working with global teams and managing programs across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Direct People Management/ or LEAD experience: 3+ years
  • Direct (HR) / Indirect (via Influence) Leadership or LEAD experience: 15+ years, progressive
  • Technical Program Management:
    • 15+ years, progressive
    • SaaS experience necessary
    • Cloud Platform experience necessary
    • Budget/Finance experience necessary
  • Software Engineering: Been a developer or led software development teams in past.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Certificate in Program Mgmt., PMP or SPC certified at some part of their career (currency of certification is not required)
    • Courses taken to remain relevant with technology advances.
  • Work Environments: Exposure working in various work environments spanning large corporations and in Platform and SaaS environments.
  • Organizational Fit: Beyond technical skills, competencies, and experience, includes, culture, ethics, morals, transparency, collaboration, respect, blend of soft and hard skills.

Ensures development delivery in tight stated timeless, driving home development and delivery to such – on cost, on budget, on time and deliver with high-quality to changing scope as needed to meet customer needs, finding creative ways to solve problems and get things done (vs. saying why it can’t be), resolving to the need within a fixed budget and fixed headcount model.

The individual needs to be fully vested and have a long-term commitment (not be one jumps from one shiny thing to the next because it is something new), have a high energy persona with a positive attitude, visible in communications and daily interactions to drive the organization forward and achieve results.

Technical Prowess

Working knowledge (from a technical leader perspective), spanning many of the following areas (with specific focus on those most needed and related to Platform), to effectively interface with the day-to-day workings of the Development Teams:

  • Compliance, GDPR, Data security and Disaster recovery, Business Continuity Management and Planning, PCI, SOX, ISO, etc.
  • Platform knowhow: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Platforms and cloud migration strategy and execution
  • APIs, Webservices, SOAP, REST, RESTful, JSON-RPC, JMS, SOA/EDA, Microservices, client-server, distributed systems, API-First Frameworks, OpenAPI specs, NodeJS, React, Angular
  • Java, J2EE, .NET, Spring, Hibernate, Spring Boot, RDBMS, NoSQL, OOAD, MuleSoft, Apigee, Stacklet, Backstage, Mashery, Kubernetes, CI/CD, deployment pipelines, IaC, GitOps
  • Design Patterns, Architecture best practices, Agile SDLC, build & deployment tools
  • MVC, Spring IOC, Hibernates, SOA and other similar design patterns/principles, with understanding API-First design OpenAPI microservices architecture design paradigms.
  • Complex on-prem datacenter, cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Ability to provide/understand technical system solutions, determine/implement overall design direction, observe and provide recommendations to solve for complex technical issues proactively and in the moment, and make data-driven decisions with KPIs/metrics

This individual will need to effectively collaborate with other peer leaders, bring harmony, to lead and grow the teams, to build and support highly complex and challenging products including sustain, maintenance & ‘keep the lights on’ (KTLO). In this position, the individual is required to possess broad and practical experience in software development delivery, or program management for large scale systems, specializing in building strong and highly skilled teams, partnering with customer facing teams to align with the “voice of the customer” and collaborating with product leadership in support of product strategy, planning and developing new software with successful execution and high quality.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $150,450.00-$203,550.00.
