Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Structures Supervisor will supervise a small group of structures engineers, with responsibility for the durability and structural integrity of the GTFA LPC module.  Organize and manage task assignments, employee performance and results for the group.  Support the GTFA LPC CIPT in task planning, coordinating resources and requirements, and communication with the program office and chief engineer customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cradle-to-grave analytical support, from detailed-design through development, validation, manufacturing and operational service.
  • Coach, train and develop the technical proficiency of structures engineers.
  • Review and approve stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life and crack growth prediction analyses.
  • Provide structures support for validation testing, production and engineering investigations and ensure support for multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
  • Ensure appropriate Outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved, consistent with discipline strength and development.
  • Coordinate with other groups to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods as well as ensure proper documentation and communication of results to management and external customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering and 8+ years of experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering OR
  • Advanced Engineering Degree and 5+ years of experience.
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative.
  • Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share knowledge with others.
  • Demonstration and active development of a strong leadership capability.
  • A passion for mentorship and professional development of others.
  • Prior industry experience working on Commercial Engines Programs and Repair Development of Aerospace Hardware, with preference to major rotating parts. 
  • Knowledge of Structures Engineering Knowledge System (EKS). 
  • Experience as structures engineer on aerospace hardware. 
  • Working knowledge and application of CORE principles to improve team effectiveness and efficiency.
