Core durability engineers are responsible for developing thermal analysis tools that support the design of aero-engine hot section components such as airfoil, BOAS, and combustor. Tools that predict the life of a given hot section component are also owned and improved by the core durability engineers. The candidate is expected to have deep fundamental knowledge on heat transfer and fluid flow. Background knowledge on hot section component damage mechanisms (i.e., CMAS infiltration, spallation, TMF, etc.) is a plus. The candidate will work closely with the materials, methods, and durability CIPT teams at P&W.

What is my role type?
In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
