Configuration and Data Practitioner

Remote with occasional travel, UK wide

The Configuration Practitioner is responsible for determining and administering configuration management which includes:

  • Apply and administer Configuration Planning
  • Configuration Identification
  • Configuration Change Management
  • Configuration Status Accounting
  • Configuration Verification and Audits in compliance with Customer, Company, Security, and Program Standards
  • Supports the on-going CM processes, including CMMI, IPDP and CM internal audit gate review activities
  • Manages digital files and work products
  • Provides support for proposals, quotations and budget/cost reviews.

The Data Practitioner is responsible for determining data management requirements and administering data management to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

The Data Practitioner works closely with Program Management, Contracts, Engineering, Configuration Management, and functional personnel assigned to the program to accomplish this task.  The Data Practitioner is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all required deliverable and non-deliverable contract data are properly identified, scheduled, marked, approved, inspected, submitted, and accepted.
  • Supporting PMO activities.
  • Supporting on-going Data Management processes, including CMMI, IPDP and DM internal audit gate review activities.
  • Managing digital files and work products.
  • Providing support for proposals, quotations and budget/cost reviews.

The Data Practitioner with the Configuration Manager ensures that all program-related information is effectively stored and controlled when the contract close-out activity is completed.

Personnel assigned to this role possess the basic knowledge, skills and experience but the organization desired the following additional knowledge, skills or experience:

  • Understand records management
  • Understand how to locate CMDM processes and artifacts
  • General awareness of Five Configuration Management (CM) Pillars
