Commercial Vehicle Database Specialist

Role overiew

Cap Red and Green Book valuations are seen as the industry benchmark for current commercial vehicle and motorcycle values.  This essential home and field-based role will focus on ensuring accurate current and forecast motorcycle valuations are produced on a monthly basis using the data and intelligence at hand. The role will also include an element of LCV and HGV editorial work including adding and pricing new HGV models and additions. And overseeing the monthly production and publication of pricing data and editorials across the three sectors. As an ambassador for cap hpi, you will represent the company in external meetings with representatives from manufacturers, leasing and rental companies and remarketers.

Key

  • Provide the workflow to the editors for the following:
    • New vehicles into the database
    • Specialist valuation enquiries
  • Works with the New Vehicle Data team to agree priorities for inclusion into Monitor.
  • Manages the production of the analysis used by the editors prior to monthly pricing meetings (Current Values).
  • Contribute to the decision-making process at the monthly pricing meetings (Current Values).
  • Manages the documentation of decisions made during monthly pricing meetings for the editors to update the database (Current Values).
  • Audits the monthly movements against agreed movement decisions (Current Values).
  • Provide database support for the inclusion and removal of vehicle age identifiers within the system (Current Values).
  • Control & manage the production of products within the commercial vehicle databases (Current Values & Future Values).
  • Reduction in lead time for vehicle inclusion into product.
  •   Comprehensive records of pricing activity maintained across both LCV & HGV formats.
  •   Produce accurate and timely valuation products.
  •   Products are reviewed regularly to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  •   Workload is managed.

Vehicle workflow

  • Direct new vehicle information to the relevant editor for inclusion into product.
  • Ensuring the “ID’s to Do” is maintained to the correct Service Level Agreement targets.

Vehicle Pricing

  • Provide detailed documentation for the editors to make vehicle pricing movements at the monthly meetings.
  • Audit vehicle movements to ensure they are in-line with documented decisions.

Database

  • Support the Current Value Editors with database updating for regular age identifier inclusion into the current value products.

Production Process

  • Ensure that the monthly production process is carried out within the time parameters set.
  • Complete production documentation and provide feedback to the Editors & Forecast Managers of any areas of concern.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of analysing data.
  • Works well in a team
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to interpret complex, high volume data sets.
