The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
Role Overview:
Join this high impact team as Cloud Network Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of classified operations of services hosted in the commercial cloud environments of Azure and AWS. This position is available at several RTX locations including Aurora, Colorado; El Segundo, California; McKinney, Texas; Tewksbury, Massachusetts; Tucson, Arizona. Relocation support is available for the selected applicant if they meet the company policy criteria. The candidate chosen for the role will have proven ability to stand up network services for highly-governed environment with the commercial cloud, including segregation of payloads, cloud-based network services, hybrid cloud, encryption, and virtual LANs.
Responsibilities:
- Support the networking aspects of deploying digital technology services into commercial cloud within multiple classified environments
- Creation of private payload-by-payload hybrid cloud networks
- Maintain compliance of network-related cyber governance controls
- Deploy and operate network health operations monitoring
- Work with cloud system administrators for deployment of services and end customer payloads into the cloud
- Engage with commercial cloud vendors for deployment of new services to RTX users, including cyber protections for those services
- Technical expertise in all areas of networking interconnection and interfacing in the cloud, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
- Prepare or ensure that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions and inventory tracking.
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for deployed systems.
- Network designs that include selection cloud-based and on-prem networking solutions
- Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in configuring networking for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET level security clearance is required prior to start date, U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Obtain and utilize Certifications in Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CEH or CFR or Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP.
- Applicable certification in AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
- Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
- Experience with firewall and access control list knowledge
- Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities
- Willingness and availability for infrequent work during afternoon and evenings as needed.
- Willingness and availability for infrequent travel domestically as needed.
- Experience with Scaled Agile Kanban and/or Scrum methodologies
- Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications
- Experience with classified computing
- Current DoD Top Secret level security clearance
- Certifications in CASP+ or CCNP Security or CCSP or GCIA or GCED or GCIH
Education:
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience (Networking or Technology) or a master’s degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience or associate degree and minimum 9 years of relevant experience is required.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
