Join the Raytheon team and lead in the development of Space Systems Product Lines
Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) has an exciting opportunity working as the Chief Engineer for our Space Systems Product Lines. As RIS develops new product lines to support our Space business, you will provide leadership and oversight of the entire engineering effort. You’ll work through business strategy, concept exploration, business value / business case development, and technical/business briefings in order to get the product line approved. Next, you’ll oversee the execution effort to ensure that the product line concept becomes a reality. Finally, you’ll provide product line stewardship and internal marketing to ensure the product line is represented in our future program proposals and planning.
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Broker between business strategists and engineering technologists to formulate high ROI product line concepts
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Develop product lines business plans, and drive through executive-level approval
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Provide technical leadership and oversight of the entire product life cycle development activities
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Maintain technical baseline control within fixed cost and schedule constraints
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Full ownership of the engineering work products developed in support of the product line
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Lead configuration control board, engineering review board, failure review board, and risk and opportunity review boards
Required Skills:
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Minimum of 12 years of experience
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Experience in Aerospace or Government Defense Organizations
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Experience with execution, process integration, Six Sigma, Quality and related process improvement methodologies
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Experienced mentor giving guidance, direction and holding individuals accountable for deliverables in their domain area
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Experience in execution and management through the use of performance metrics
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Experience with the entire product development lifecycle
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, math or related field
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Minimum Active SSBI on hire date; This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
Desired Skills:
[if !supportLists]o [endif]Experience in early concept development/exploration activities
[if !supportLists]o [endif]M.S. in engineering related field, or M.B.A.
Requires expert knowledge of multiple work areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
Expert knowledge of market with the ability to identify best practices and how to best utilize within RTX.
Typically requires:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or
An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree
in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited
by local laws/regulations.
