WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

As the Calibration Engineer, you will get the opportunity to work within powertrain department and support the new project to deliver best-in-class calibrations for driveability for JLR product and work across the full spectrum of powertrain technologies. You will work together with Driveability Calibration Lead Engineers and Subject Matter Experts to carry out calibration activities required to deliver the Driveability attribute to meet the Vehicle Engineering Statement of Intent.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

  • Recognise and manage all stakeholders' actions to provide the driveability quality. 

  • Coordinate control of engine, gearbox, and electric machines to provide system-level driveability. 

  • Collaborate effectively with electrical, chassis, and PED teams to achieve system-level driveability objectives. 

  • Conduct robustness testing in the UK, including heat, cold, and altitude, to ensure system reliability. Use the FMEA approach to verify that DV includes all escape routes. 

  • Collaborate with software teams to optimise control system logic and fulfil driveability criteria. 

  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

 

  • Understanding of System Engineering and the System Engineering V Model 

  • Technical knowledge of driveability calibration across a broad range of powertrain configurations and levels of electrification 

  • Experience of successful delivery of the Driveability attribute into market  

  • Knowledge of planning, co-ordination, delivery to support the Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles. 

  • Experience of delivering technical solutions within a team
