WHAT TO EXPECT

You will be working in a dynamic fast-moving team supporting all JLR platforms, product lines and models on their way to validating vehicle safety signoff. This is where we validate new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. The emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start.



Prototype Build Operations is not only responsible for delivering the prototype properties within JLR to our engineering customers. We also prepare and analyse vehicles pre and post-crash testing. Working as part of the wider Prototype Operations team, you ‘ll drive the timely delivery of our builds.  



You will primarily be responsible for delivering post-test activities, ensuring optical measurement data is captured at the right quality, management of vehicles through the workshops and onto their next destination. Engaging with the workshop and customer teams to ensure correct prioritisation and task content, with the aim of ensuring testing can continue in parallel.



Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

•    Oversee and drive all post test vehicle activity. Collating all build/Strip documentation and information to provide relevant packs to the workshop team.

•    Own the and manage all optical measuring equipment including calibration and suitability.

•    Liase with the disposal compound, managing stock numbers and movements.

•    Raise and manage build related issues to close, whilst progressing build in a timely manner.

•    Feed into daily progress forums, supporting correct throughput and efficiency.

•    Be the interface with our customers for live builds/Strips

•    Liaise with Logistics teams to ensure build requirements are met

•    Provide leadership and technical direction to a multi -skilled team of vehicle fitters.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

•    Practical, hands-on experience of building or working on vehicles with a comprehensive knowledge of vehicle preparation and analysis.

•    Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

•    Knowledge of the PHEV, HEV and BEV propulsion systems

•    A full valid driving licence

•    Flexibility and willingness to work at other JLR sites as required
