Benefits Manager

Job description:

  • The Benefits Manager has a direct responsibility to lead Aptiv administration for Insurance plans for Mexico, Brazil and Honduras, responsible for the relationship with Mercer-Marsh (Broker). Support Renewal process for Mexico, Brazil and Honduras. Responsible for the Mexico day to day operations for Medical, Life, Medical Excess plan and optional plans (Dental, Catastrophic illness and funeral insurance). Additional responsibilities include Relocation Bonus calculation, support finance with car insurance renewal for cross borders and ensure a fair renewal for employee car insurance self-paid service provided by Marsh.

Functions:

  • Leads day to day operation for insurance plans (Medical, Life, Excess and Optional Plans).

  • Annual renewal negotiations for Mexico, Brazil and Honduras.

  • Benefits Program Management - Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive benefits programs, health insurance and if needed support retirement plans and other employee benefits.

  • Ensure all benefits programs are compliant with local laws and regulations in Mexico

  • Regularly evaluate and benchmark benefits programs to ensure competitiveness within the industry.

  • Vendor/Broker Management: Manage relationships with external benefits providers and vendors, including negotiating contracts and ensuring high levels of service delivery.

  • Monitor vendor/broker performance and address any issues or discrepancies promptly.

  • Employee Communication and Support - Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options and any changes to existing programs. (Integralmente, Financial Fair, Wellness Fair etc.)

  • Provide support to employees regarding benefits-related inquiries and issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting - Analyze benefits data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on benefits utilization, costs, and employee satisfaction to senior management.

  • Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure compliance with all applicable local and federal regulations related to employee benefits and conduct regular audits of benefits programs to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Policy Development - Develop and update benefits policies and procedures in alignment with corporate objectives and legal requirements. Collaborate with HR and management teams to ensure consistent application of benefits policies across all facilities.

  • Budget Management - Develop and manage benefits budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability. Monitor & control benefits expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings.

  • Team Leadership - Lead and mentor the benefits specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Direct relationship, interaction and communication with HR teams across business.

  • Follow up of invoice payment for the insurance plans (direct relationship with finance)

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in Beneficts (minimum)

  • Experience working with insurance brokers

  • Bachelor´s degree terminated (Administration or related)

  • English level advanced
