Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity on the Fighters Mission Avionics Team for an Avionics Hardware Engineering Manager that will oversee execution of F-15 and F/A-18 avionics equipment located in Berkeley, MO.  This position falls within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization under the Air Dominance Fighters organization.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader who is passionate about technical execution, continuous improvement, and people development. They should be assertive with a drive for excellence. The candidate will work closely with USN, USAF, and DCMA customers and various suppliers to incorporate equipment updates and engineering changes to meet contract requirements and support fleet needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage Avionics Equipment Engineers.
  • Ensure hardware delivery commitments are met for F-15 and F/A-18 aircraft production and sustainment deliveries as well as non-A/C On Time Deliverable contractual requirements.
  • Provide experienced technical and programmatic leadership.
  • Lead Hardware Development program execution including requirements development, program reviews, qualification testing, and transition to production/sustainment.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
  • Support production and fleet with issue resolution for delivered hardware and software over the entire product life cycle.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a hardware engineer.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Able to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with avionics systems.
  • Experience with requirements, designs, and design analysis.
  • Experience interfacing and presenting data to upper-level management, Program Managers, and Military customers.
  • Knowledge and experience with the overall system engineering life-cycle development cycle from proposal development and requirements definition through design, implementation, test, verification, and production.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to listen, assimilate, evaluate, and summarize. Sound ability to communicate with partners and customer at all levels.
