Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Airplane Systems Organization is looking for an Associate or Mid-level Propulsion South Carolina Product Development Loads Structural Analyst to support our team based in North Charleston, South Carolina.

This is a structural engineering / stress analyst job on Propulsion South Carolina's (PSC) Nacelle Product Development team. This role will work with Propulsion Product Development engineers across Boeing and inside PSC to help develop new products and components that will be part of Boeing's next commercial airplanes and also change improvement packages for the current commercial airplane offerings. Nacelles include engine inlets, fan cowls, thrust reversers, and exhaust nozzles. This role will develop stress analysis methods for the newly-developed components so that someday stress groups across the company will be able to understand and work with the new technologies. You should be an established stress analyst with experience. Knowledge of Hypermesh, NASTRAN, and/or Abaqus is required. You should be comfortable working independently and also an excellent communicator with diverse types of engineers. You should be curious and obsessed with details and you should be excited about pushing the limits of today's products and materials to make substantial impacts on our next products and airplane improvement changes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors engineering degree or Bachelors physics degree
  • 2+ years structural stress analysis experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Engineering degree or physics degree
  • 2+ years finite element modelling  
  • Experience with Python Programming
  • Experience with Airplane- or component-level Loads analysis
  • Experience with NASTRAN
  • Experience with Abaqus
  • Experience with GIT

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Level 2- Associate

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 

Level 3- Mid-level

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range level 2: $76,500 – $103,500

Summary pay range level 3: $95,200 – $128,800
