This Program Chief Engineer (PCE) is the engineering focal point for the Next Generation Interceptor Program within RI&S Space Systems.  This program provides critical technology for national security space missions.  The Chief Engineer oversees the entire engineering effort, providing oversight and technical direction to the program. 

Provides technical leadership and oversight of the entire sensor product life cycle development activities, including: requirements development, allocation, verification and analysis; hardware and software design  and development; system level integration and test planning, verification and validation; interface definition (electrical, mechanical, optical, thermal);  modeling, analysis and simulation development;  CONOPS development; and Monitor performance through technical performance measures.  

Maintains technical baseline control within fixed cost and schedule constraints.

Full ownership of the engineering work products and artifact for the program 

Leads Configuration Control Board, Engineering Review Board, Failure Review Board, Risk and Opportunity Review Boards

Fosters teamwork; culture in-line with high performance and cohesive teams necessary to meet the technical, schedule and cost challenges, act as the bridge between program management and technical staff, mentor the program junior engineers and review their work for quality 

Basic Qualification:

Minimum of 12 years of experience

Experience in Aerospace or Government Defense Organizations

Experience with execution, process integration, Six Sigma, Quality or related process improvement methodologies

Experienced mentor giving guidance, direction and holding individuals accountable for deliverables in their domain area

Experience in execution and management through the use of performance metrics

Clearance Requirements:

An active and in-scope SSBI U.S. security clearance

Required Education:

Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) in science, math, physics or related technical field

Requires expert knowledge of multiple work areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

Expert knowledge of market with the ability to identify best practices and how to best utilize within RTX.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or

An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree

in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited

by local laws/regulations.
