  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary position for an Assembly Future Aircraft Engineer Rear Fuselage based in Getafe. This role may require travel depending upon specific projects needs.

  • The position will focus on the Preparation of the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 Review of the Rear Fuselage in Q1 2024 and closure of any gaps resulting from the review.

  • The successful candidate will join the Assembly Future Aircraft Team which is part of the larger Assembly Technologies Team within the Airbus Manufacturing Engineering Community. We are a highly motivated and engaged transnational team located in 10 different sites in 4 countries. 

  • Our team faces the challenges of tomorrow: Sustainability, ramp up, cost reduction, lead time reduction, quality improvement, maturity at entry into service, Non Value Added reduction. We analyse potential future products and develop a techno portfolio to meet the Assembly production needs.

  • Your role will be to: 

    • Coordinate the Assembly Technology Status input and evidence against the TRL3 criteria

    • Ensure clear alignment between Assembly Technologies and Industrial Architects regarding Component Design concept, Production system concept, Build philosophy and required Assembly Technologies.

    • Identify and resolve any low maturity issues.

    • Ensure clear planning for technology development Post TRL3

    • Analyse and Assessment of benefit of proposed solutions in terms of key figures of merit (i.e. Safety, Sustainability, Process capability, Rate, Cost, etc)

  • This role will require strong collaboration with Industrial Component Architects, Design Engineering, Plants, the Research and Technology network and Supplier Partners.

We are looking for Candidates with the following skills and competencies:

  • You are educated at degree level in Manufacturing Systems Engineering or similar

  • You have Knowledge and experience of manufacturing, engineering and assembly processes

  • You like to communicate and interact with people from different cultural background

  • You like to work within a team and autonomously

  • You feel comfortable in managing complex & dynamic projects in a transnational environment

  • You like to develop strategies and work with stakeholders to achieve them

  • You have the willingness and creativity to make things happen

  • Negotiation level in English, both written and verbal is a must

 

Following experience would be a plus:

  • You already have knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and assembly processes in aviation industry
