Job Summary:

  • Day-to-day leadership, direction & coordination of Pratt & Whitney Manufacturing Engineers, support organizations and suppliers focusing on overall part requirements and conventional manufacturing processes (Grind, EDM, Welding).
  • Process development, staff training, as well as the installation and startup of equipment, which includes pre and post ancillary processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead MCAB, MRL, and QIP effort for improved processes of overlay coatings. Keep current on status and recent developments in the plant / industry / profession.
  • Lead with CORE, promote principles and contribute to achieving/maintaining goals as a team. Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly.
  • Promote corporate code of ethical standards and business practice and company policies.
  • Create project plans and budget and drive successful closure. Provide technical innovation to develop new controls, processes, and methodologies.
  • Act as a change agent to implement process and product improvements. Provide a high level of communication and cooperation with team members.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Management Team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in leading and managing a team of people.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Lean manufacturing training a plus.
  • Knowledge of MES2.0.
  • Experience in turbine airfoil manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced manufacturing environment with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.
  • Highly self-directed, able to learn quickly with a strong ability to drive and deliver results.
  • Six Sigma green or black belt.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
