We are looking at the earliest start date for an "Accountant Complex Contracts and Processes (d/f/m)", directly reporting to VP HO Accounting & Consolidation Airbus Defence and Space.

In that role you will ...

  • Be the focal point of this area of Finance in front of Airbus Shared Services to ensure the end to end processes are run in accordance with the accounting rules for complex Programs on time and quality, without disruption or major impacts on the EAC of the programs, and with the needed level of internal control

  • Analyze Complex Contracts, and discuss with Group Technical Accounting the right assessment of them, taking care of the implementation of the needed closing and reporting procedures.

  • Design a better accounting and reporting scheme which reduces complexity and efficiency

  • Instruct and coordinate all local accounting teams, conso team, and controllers to ensure on time and on quality financial reports which allow top management the follow up and timely decisions

  • Report Complex Contracts financials directly to the Head of TFDA (BIII), and work as a strong team to bring precise messages to the top management

  • Be the focal point of controlling to understand the major impacts on the EAC of the programs

  • Highlight and analyse discrepancies and propose actions to optimize our accounting process performance

  • Support key change decisions for the area projects (business cases, change in assumptions...)

  • Support the preparation of the key closing topics (KCTs) in collaboration with Controlling and the HO Accounting in the different countries

  • Ensure consistency of auditable and readily available information on key programmes and balance sheet exposure

  • Support the local accounting team in implementing process and accounting rules to support the preparation of the monthly financial statements in line with local gaap and IFRS on time and on quality

  • Support the local accounting team in organising and improving the closing process, proposing digitalisation solutions. Promote process harmonisation across all entities

  • Support the review and the implementation of processes for contracts impacting different countries

  • Ensure a proper level of internal control in Complex Contracts

  • Support the leadership team of this area in the assessment of opportunities for harmonization, automation, and digitalisation within Accounting

Desired skills and qualifications

  • You are educated to degree level in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent

  • You have a working experience in Finance and Accounting; audit background is a plus

  • You have an understanding of IFRS in order to provide efficient accounting support to management

  • You are able to articulate and document key accounting issues, processes and controls in a clear and concise manner

  • You are used to interact with external auditors on a professional level and have the ability to persuade, influence and convince

  • You have good interpersonal skills and a continuous improvement mindset

  • You are able to build bridges between different teams, cultures, and mindsets

  • You have the experience of working in a matrix environment with proven record of successful stakeholder management from different locations and backgrounds thanks to good communication skills

  • You speak English to a negotiation level
