Summary of Role: Raytheon UK is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and high performing senior and Multi-Disciplined Systems Administrator to join the 3rd Line Support Team. Raytheon, along with other similar successful high performing organisations, is executing highly collaborative and complex programmes to deliver specialist services. These services require collaborative working and strong leadership to resolve issues by working jointly with the customer across multiple sites and business areas.

The successful candidate will be working within a team of 3rd Line administrators supporting several sites across the UK.  This will include managing changes, applying updates and testing systems to maintain multiple complex services.  It is expected that the successful candidate will have extensive system, network and admin experience along with detailed knowledge of the bespoke environments. This is a complex and challenging role that will be highly rewarding.

Main Duties:

  • Manage, investigate, resolve, and close Tier 3 technical hardware and software issues.
  • Liaise, co-operate, and advise other parts of the team.
  • Liaison with contractors and suppliers
  • Manage the lifecycle of your incidents and requests.
  • prioritising incident responses to ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with contractually agreed service levels and performance indicators.
  • Provide regular progress and resolution feedback to users.
  • Ensure regular checks and system monitoring are performed on supported systems.
  • Identify situations requiring urgent attention and escalate via the appropriate channels.
  • Providing Hardware maintenance and IT Support for servers, workstations, and switches.
  • Implement, deploy, and maintain COTS software applications.
  • Management of Active Directory and group policies
  • Building Servers and Windows workstations
  • Preparing and executing system scripts.
  • Analyse and resolve system hardware defects.
  • Provide support to remote sites.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Eligible to work in the UK and must possess (or be able to obtain) SC level security clearance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A knowledge and understanding of ITIL functions, principles, and processes and capable of carrying out best practices against that.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
  • Previous experience of fault finding, diagnosing repairing, and maintaining IT Systems
  • Previous experience of successfully delivering projects and change.
  • Experienced in the integration and configuration of COTS software including but not limited to Exchange, MS Office, McAfee EPO.
  • Qualified academically or vocationally in relevant IT subject matter.
  • Strong Windows system administration experience, covering Windows 7, 10  and Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019.
  • Experience of backup and antivirus solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of Domain Controllers, Active Directory, and group policies.
  • Experience of network infrastructure including switches, cabling, TCP/IP etc.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of applying IT principle in Royal Navy training establishments.
  • A clear understanding of the Accreditation and SCIDA processes.
  • knowledge of government IT Security requirements including MoD JSPs (440, 640 and 480)
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience of deploying and maintaining bespoke I.T products.
