Job Summary:
The Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture (ISMA) directorate is composed of an energetic multi-disciplinary team of over 300 engineers working collaboratively with internal and external customers and programs to provide mission level modeling & simulation of sensing & effects capabilities from seabed to space, multi-level operation analysis, integrated system of system architectures and operations research. We are in the front end of the business pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity to establish next-generation mission solutions from system-level up to campaign-level.
This position is an onsite role.
As an Intern:
- You will contribute your knowledge of performance engineering practices, and procedures, to evaluate work across a wide range of intriguing computational problems.
- You will support, contribute, and collaborate in a team environment, receiving inputs from the program or team experts, and work on diverse projects, determining and developing approaches and solutions.
- You will provide development support throughout the product lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be in Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2024
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific majors: Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Applied Math, Physics, Aerospace or related scientific or STEM discipline.
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- Knowledge of data analysis, operations analysis, and statistics especially dealing with large volumes of data.
- Ability to work well independently and stay on track with limited supervision
- Ability to receive direction and constructive feedback well
- Knowledge of AFSIM, Simulink, MATLAB, C++ and Python
- Knowledge of the system engineering life-cycle model
- Interest in radars and air defense systems
- Coursework or internship experience in the following areas:
- Software development processes and object-oriented design.
- Scripting languages such as Python or C++
- Programming & Data Structures
- Numerical computing environments such as MATLAB
- Computational Methods in Aerospace engineering
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
