Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineering Directorate is responsible for the design, test, manufacture, and support of advanced electrical subsystems (target detection, target tracking, guidance, navigation, signal processing, and communication) to be utilized in extreme battle-field environments. The RF/Microwave & Antenna Section of the Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Department, a part of the Electrical Engineering Directorate, is currently searching for 2024 Summer Interns.
A successful candidate is one who can participate in a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes.
A candidate with interests, studies, research, or experiences which are technically broad will be a possible fit in our RF/Microwave & Antennas Group. All Candidates will work within a larger team at Raytheon. Interns perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects but will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities. These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals to better learn about real industry positions.
This position is an onsite role.

This position can be a (Sophomore through Senior Technical Intern) or (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:

(Freshman Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program

(Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program

(Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program

(Senior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program

(Post-Graduate Technical Intern)- must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
Basic Qualifications:
-
Must be at least a sophomore by the start of Summer 2024 and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree majoring in Electrical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.

Experience or coursework with multimeters and oscilloscopes.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.

Comprehensive understanding of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Amateur radio background – licensed or desire to obtain one.

Experience with electronics as a hobby.
-
Computer simulation programs: Spice, HFSS, Microwave Office, Genesys, MATLAB/Simulink.

Smith Chart familiarity.

Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, internet browsers, search engines, Windows, Apple, and/or Linux operating system experience (user level).

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Location:
The salary range for this role is $48,000 - $76,000 however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
