Job Summary:

Raytheon is seeking an entry-level engineering professional to work with a variety of programs as a contributor to detailed design, simulation, product development, and initial product testing.

The Effector RF and Communication Department is currently searching for Electrical Engineers who have educational experience and professional interest designing RF and Microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, and exciters.  This role includes design and test activities that span preliminary design to integration.  Products we develop support radar and datalink applications on a variety of tactical missile programs.  Critical to this role will be designing for challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.

This position is located in Tucson, AZ and is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Supporting design and development of transmitters, receivers or exciters.
  • Experience designing and optimizing RF circuits – either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.)
  • Working in a lab to accomplish component characterization as well as module verification and integration
  • Testing and handling sensitive RF Hardware.
  • Supporting design of circuit and assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals.
  • Working with interdisciplinary teams – power, digital, mechanical, etc.
  • Schematic capture and detailed design.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree.
  • Electronics and electromagnetics coursework.
  • Analog or RF design coursework.
  • Laboratory experience with electronics.
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Solid background and practical understanding of RF electronics design considerations (to include experience or relevant course work).
  • Experience with any of the following tools: Mentor Xpedition xDX Designer, System Vision, MATLAB, MathCad, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Advanced Design System (ADS).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
