Job Summary:
The Product Design and Packaging Department (PDP) within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) is in seeking a Product Development Engineering (PDE) to join our team in Tucson, AZ. PDP is the internal customer-facing organization for internal design activities and provides the expertise that optimizes electronic hardware designs for producibility, provides electrical circuit design, strategic procurement relationships, and assembly services through project leadership to achieve cycle time, technology, and cost goals.
This position is an onsite role.
This position is available starting in May 2024 or later. Selected candidates must be available, and have met all offer contingencies, to begin working with an expected start date ranging from May 2024 through October 2024.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Responsible for hosting design reviews and managing a multi-disciplined team which takes designs from inception to manufacturing.

Drives design, procurement and build schedule to meet program need dates.

Generate drawing notes and review Technical Data Package (TDP) to ensure adherence to IPC specs.

Perform design for manufacturability analyses.
-
BOM (Bill of Material) development and management.
-
Review supplier data and lessons learned in order to ensure product excellence and continual improvement.

Travel to visit suppliers.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.

Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects with ability to multi-task and establish schedule based on priorities.
-
Self-starter that seeks to connect the dots between engineering disciplines and actively reaches out to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
-
Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drafting standards, and overall producibility considerations related to electronic packaging.
-
Familiarity with translating schematic capture into a producible layout.

Familiarity with soldering and importance of workmanship.
-
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, specifically Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA).

Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
